Hi friends! This Thursday will be the Burning Witches in Cyclocamp Shipyard (Loděnice) in Brná (around 15 minutes from dorms by bus). Let’s celebrate this interesting traditional holidays together by a beautiful coast of the river Labe.

Why do we celebrate Burning Witches?: It is really old traditional custom. The night between 30th April and 1st May was considered like the night full of magic. This night people get together around bonfire and celebrate spring coming. People believed that on this night the witches get together to Witches Sabbath. For protection people started to build a fire border. As time went by this fire borders became the “burning witches”.
Program: For those who will be bored or wanna help us, we will make some games and competitions for children in Cyclocamp. Are you affraid that children will not understand you? Don’t be! You will have always a Buddy by your side. Who wanna help us, please let Stacy know. Meeting for you: at 3:30 pm in front of the dorms.
For those, who wanna have just fun will be the main program from 5 pm. Meeting: 4:30 in front of the dorms. Please don’t be late.
You can enjoy making the witch, lighting the bonfire, grilling sausages (you can buy them in Cyclocamp), competitions, games and of course a good beer!
Warning: The last bus from Cyclocamp leaves at 10:45 pm, so after burning witches will be the afterparty in a secret place, which we’ll tell you on thursday.
